Welcome to the future, everyone! At this very moment AT&T is rolling out iPhone MMS.
If you’re one of those folks who haven’t been sitting in front of iTunes all morning and clicking the “Update” button for hours on end, go check now. Austin is now live and we have an onslaught of reports saying that most other large metro areas have gone live too.
To get the update, plug into iTunes, go to your iPhones device screen, and hit the update button. The carrier file will take 5-10 seconds to download, resulting in Carrier Profile 5.5. Power cycle your iPhone, and BAM – you’re ready to roll.

UPDATE: After four hours – not a single MMS has gone through – I’ve given up for now. Obviously AT&T’s tinker-toy network is not yet up to the task… also, call quality and reliability has been suffering today, more than usual.
