Being a total news junkie – one of my favorite daily reads is the Wall Street Journal via their excellent web app. Well, in a trend that is sweeping the entire newspaper industry – soon, charges are going to be introduced for those who access the Wall Street Journal’s website via the web or the dedicated WSJ app.
The charges will be introduced within a few months and will cost $1 a week for people with an existing WSJ print subscription and $2 for others.
Before you complain about the cost – consider the value of having a wealth of content at your fingertips, available instantly, and updated 24×7. It’s eco-friendly, easy to search, and never soggy or late.
Get used to the idea of paying for quality content – you’ve done it for years – this is just a more timely format. Hats off to the WSJ for making the move.
