"Dr. Mac" Bob LeVitus present his annual "State if the Mac" Address December 8, 7:30 PM

Thursday, December 15, 2005
Note new rescheduled date!
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Bob "Dr. Mac" LeVitus joins Capitol Macintosh December 15 for his always exciting, entertaining, and enlightening annual "State of the Macintosh" address. Bob and the College of Pharmacy kindly accommodated the new date after our December 8 meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather that closed the University.

Bob will present his favorite applications, games, and utilities for the Mac as well as providing his unique insight into the future as we begin to enter a new Intel-powered era of Macintosh computers. He'll also demo the new video iPod and Harman Kardon Drive+Play.

Remember that December meeting attendees take home a copy of our annual CapMac Holiday CD that includes demo versions of Bob's favorite applications and utilities, plus we'll have over $700.00 worth of donated software licenses raffle prizes!

Bob is one of the world's leading authorities on the Macintosh. He has written almost 50 best-selling computer books including his newest titles, "Mac OS X For Dummies, Tiger Edition" and "Garage Band for Dummies." His books have sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide, and have been translated into more than a dozen languages.

Bob has written columns, reviews, and feature articles for almost every magazine with the word "Mac" in its title and currently writes the "Dr. Mac" column for the Houston Chronicle technology page each Friday, and the "Dr. Mac's Rants & Raves" column for The Mac Observer. His hobbies include playing guitar, engineering his own audio recordings, and filmmaking.

While proud to be known for his keen knowledge of the Mac and its history, Bob likes to be known for his humorous relaxed writing style and ability to translate "techie" jargon into usable and fun advice for normal folks.

Bob last joined us in June for a comprehensive look at Mac OS X 10.4, Tiger and a demonstration of Doctor Mac Direct, a unique consulting service that provides expert technical assistance and training remotely.

Bob is a great supporter of Mac user groups, making hundreds of appearances and presentations over the years. We are thrilled to welcome Bob back once again, and know you'll enjoy his keen insight and candid remarks about "The State of the Mac" as we prepare to begin 2006.
