Meredith Tucker presents Macintosh security products from Intego

Thursday, September 16, 2004
Note this is one week later than our original meeting date!
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Capitol Macintosh welcomes Meredith Tucker of Intego, publisher of award-winning internet security solutions for Macintosh. Intego is an innovative leader in protecting Macintosh computers from the ever growing threats from hackers, vandals and viruses.

As high-speed, always-on internet connections like cable and DSL modems have become more commonplace, our Macintosh computers and home networks are exposed to near-constant attacks and exploit attempts.

Security experts estimate that over 85% of computer intrusions are never detected.

The time to think about security and act upon it is before something happens.

Meredith will demonstrate Intego's privacy and data protection solutions for Macintosh including their flagship NetBarrier firewall, VirusBarrier antivirus protection, ChatBarrier instant messaging encryption, and Content Barrier parental control.

Additionally, special discount prices will be available for ordering Intego products.

Intego was the first company in the world to offer a personal firewall for Macintosh, and was also the first to offer native Mac OS X security solutions. Intego has always been committed to the Macintosh platform, offering compatibility with Mac OS X, Jaguar and Panther, Apple's new G5 processors, before its competitors.
In early August Intego announced the release of the WiFi Locator, the world's smallest WiFi hotspot finder that locates available wireless networks in less than one second.

Intego is privately held and has dual headquarters in Austin, Texas, and Paris, France.
