Shelly Brisbin presents "Living the iLife '05"

Thursday, July 14, 2005
7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

iLife Box
Apple's release of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and iLife '05 gave Mac users many new toys to play with. GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie and iDVD all received nifty facelifts, and this month's addition of iTunes 4.9 puts a little decorative icing on the cake.

Shelly Brisbin will help us take a look at the major new features in iLife '05 and show you how new technologies in Tiger make these applications even better.

In her presentation Shelly will cover:
  • iTunes 4.9 podcasting interface, plus new support for video content.
  • GarageBand's multi-track recording features, musical notation and new loops.
  • iPhoto's new editing tools, book production, photo organizational tools and support for new image formats.
  • iMovie's Magic Movie, non-destructive editing and more.
  • new iDVD themes, One Step DVD, animated drop zones and more.

We'll also present our very first Cap-A-Dillo Awards, recognizing local businesses and services that go out of their way to support Austin Macintosh users. Be sure to come help applaud these vital contributors to our Macintosh community.

MacAddict Guide to Living the iLife

Austin resident Shelly Brisbin has written about technology for seventeen years. Her specialties include the Macintosh, networking and the Internet. She is the author of ten books (including the soon to be published MacAddict Guide to Living the iLife '05) and hundreds of articles for Macintosh and technology magazines. Shelly is a frequent conference presenter at Macworld Expo.

The first edition of The MacAddict Guide to Living the iLife was published last year to give a MacAddict-style look at the iLife '04 suite and all the applications and utilities bundled with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Like its predecessor, the '05 edition is a practical, funny, tip-filled guide to everything you'll find in Tiger's Applications and Utilities folders, including all five iLife '05 applications.

Our July meeting is sure to get you excited and up to speed on these amazing applications and help you use your Macintosh in ways you have never imagined. Call your friends who use Macs (or are frustrated with Windows) and join us for a fun and informative evening!
