Apple's recent Worldwide Developer Conference featured a keynote address by Steve Jobs which included significant announcements about new Apple hardware and software. Apple System Engineer West Decker attended WWDC and will relate his experiences and showcase the new Power Mac G5 at our July Capitol Macintosh General Meeting.

The new PowerMac G5 is the world's first 64 bit personal computer, and tests show it's the fastest personal computer in the world, beating the Pentium 4 in a battery of tests. If you've been thinking about a faster Mac you'll want to get the inside scoop on this radically different Power Macintosh.

At WWDC Apple also made significant software announcements, including the release of Safari 1.0, the fastest web browser on the Mac, plus the introduction of iChat AV, which adds audio and video conferencing to Apple's instant messaging application.
