Exploring Apple's New AirPort Extreme Base Station

Thursday, March 8, 2007
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

In January 2007, Apple, Inc. released a new AirPort Extreme Base Station during the MacWorld 2007 Expo in San Francisco. While all the hype and attention surrounded the newly announced iPhone and AppleTV, the release of the AirPort Extreme Base Station ushered in new capabilities for users of Apple's AirPort wireless networking technology.
AirPort Extreme Base Station

With a sleek design users have come to expect from Apple, the new base station has a footprint measuring just 6.5 inches square, the same as a MacMini and numerous other third party devices such as external hard drives, making the AirPort Extreme Base Station a perfect addition to the top of any mini stack.
The new base station is Apple's first to feature wireless networking using the IEEE 802.11n draft standard, which is up to 5x faster than the previously available 802.11g station. That means WiFi users can surf the web up to five times faster with an 802.11n capable computer.

With the redesigned AirPort Admin Utility, users can share more than just USB printers. The new AirPort Disk option allows for any external USB hard disk to be made available to users of the network, wirelessly and securely.

Join us on March 8 for our demonstration of these features and more capabilities of this new tool for wireless networking.

Plus, questions and answers, our monthly raffle, the nicest Mac friends you could ever hope to meet, and more!

Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend.
Don't miss it!
