7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Our general meeting this month is devoted to helping everyone learn how to maximize their CapMac online services benefits. Plus, we'll plan for our Spring Cleaning Sale to be held February 22, and have a special visit from Hugh Forrest of SXSW Interactive.

If you'd like to share digital pictures from iPhoto, create a personal web site, set up a blog to share your daily observations, back up vital documents offsite, or take advantage of a capmac.org email address, we'll show you how!

Beginning in January, 2003 our CapMac Online web site you are looking at now moved to its new host - our own Power Macintosh G3 server running Mac OS X Server software, hosted by San Marcos Internet.

Want confirmation? Check Netcraft!

Sure, it's great that our Mac User Group is using Macs to create and serve its web site. But we have even better news. We want to serve your web site, and set up your very own capmac.org email address.

Come to our February meeting and see how easy it is to maximize your CapMac online services. For novices and experts alike, you'll get the information you need to put your online benefits to work.

Create an online photo album, exporting digital pictures from iPhoto to your CapMac personal web space

In minutes you can be publishing your own weblog to our server, sharing it with the world!

What's a "weblog?" Come learn how to set yours up on the CapMac server and then update it quickly and easily as often as you like.

A capmac.org email address tells the world you support the Mac and you live in Austin, one of the greatest places on the planet! 15 megabytes of email space gives you plenty of room. Or, have your capmac.org email forwarded automatically to your current email address.

Getting nothing but spam at your current email address? Use your capmac.org address exclusively with close friends and simplify your life.

Tell your friends to visit your new web site on the CapMac server. And don't forget to tell them it looks best viewed in Safari!

Your CapMac membership includes 50 megabytes of personal space on our server. Build a web site, store some files as your offsite backup. You can use ftp or afp to connect and transfer your files. Come to our meeting and we'll set you up and show you how easy it is.

Our CapMac server is a Blue and White G3 (originally codenamed "Yosemite" within Apple). It runs Apple's Mac OS X Server 10.2 software, providing Apache-based web services. These services would not be possible without the kind help and generous discount provided to Capitol Macintosh by our awesome internet host, San Marcos Internet.

Plus, questions and answers, raffle, the nicest Mac friends you could ever hope to meet, and more!

Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend. Don't miss it!
