Steve Jobs Keynote Address from Macworld Expo 2007

Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple Computer, is our featured speaker once again, as we continue our annual tradition of viewing a videotape of highlights from his keynote address at Macworld Expo San Francisco.

As the Macworld Expo web site explains, Jobs' annual keynote address is "the best place to learn first-hand about Apple's latest innovations and initiatives; this is Macworld's most exciting and most anticipated presentation."

The 2007 Macworld Expo Keynote address is sure to include plenty of new hardware and software to learn about and discuss.


During his 2006 Macworld San Francisco keynote Steve Jobs introduced an exciting array of new and updated Apple products, including:

  • the new iMac powered by Intel Core Duo Processor,
    twice as fast as it's G5 predecessor
  • iMacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo processor
    up to 4x faster than the G4 PowerBook
  • iLife '06
    with new versions of iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD and GarageBand, and introducing iWeb
  • iWork '06
    with new features for Keynote and Pages
  • iPod Radio Remote

Jobs' Macworld Keynote has become a favorite source of speculation for Mac afficionados, technology pundits, financial analysts, and even former employees.

Apple has itself fueled anticipation with a bold update to their home page with the following greeting:

If you've made a resolution to set up your own web site and get a fresh start on a mail account that isn't overrun with spam, take advantage of your member benefits by applying for a CapMac server account! 15 MB of email space and 50 MB of personal server space gives you plenty of room to create your online holiday photo gallery, start your own weblog, or just backup those important documents into your private storage area. Location: The CapMac General Meeting is generally held on the second Thursday of every month. We are fortunate to have an excellent meeting space in the "new" UT Pharmacy Building in a tiered auditorium style classroom equipped with state of the art audio and video projection and internet access. There's even power outlets for your PowerBook or iBook!

Getting there: The UT Pharmacy Building is located on University Avenue near the intersection of West 26th Street (which becomes Dean Keeton St. as it passes by the UT Law School). View a map of the vicinity and get driving directions here. The white square in the graphic below shows the location of the Pharmacy Building.

Ample parking is now available just two blocks away in a new multilevel garage (PG4) recently constructed by the University. The garage is located at the corner of 27th Street and University Avenue, with the entrance on 27th Street. Cost is 3.00 for the whole evening.

Get driving directions to the garage and learn about their payment process. Other parking options are available around campus.
