Recruiting Contest - Awesome prizes!

About CapMac

Mac mini

Our recruiting contest last year was so successful (and fun!) we've decided to repeat it, with great prizes for the top membership recruiters and a chance for everyone who joins or renew their membership in CapMac to also win very cool prizes.

The prizes are the best in the history of Capitol Macintosh, and will be awarded at our October 13 General Meeting.

It's easy to participate! Tell your friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else you can think of about the benefits of CapMac. Send them to our forums for free help, and encourage them to come to a meeting and meet Austin's friendliest Mac users. They can join online or using a paper application - but be sure to remind them to include your name as the member who referred them!

CapMac brochures which include a membership form are available for download, or pick up printed copies at our monthly meetings.

NOTE: To protect our treasury, a minimum of 15 new members recruited by all members must be achieved for grand prize to be awarded.

Official Rules for the
2005 CapMac Recruiting Contest

1. Contest Duration - the contest runs from July 14, 2005 through midnight central time September 30, 2005. Any memberships created before or after these dates will not count towards the contest. In the case of mailed applications, the postmark on the envelope will determine the date of joining CapMac. Memberships submitted via PayPal must be completed before midnight Central time September 30, 2005.

2. Eligibility - everyone who has a current CapMac membership as of September 30th, 2005 is eligible to participate in the contest, including officers.

3. Winner Determination - the winner of the recruiting contest is determined by tallying the number of new members that are recruited by a member. The member who recruits the most new members wins the grand prize, with the person recruiting the next highest number of new members winning the second prize, and so on.

4. New Member definition - a "new member" for the purposes of this contest is someone who is not a current member of CapMac as of July 1, 2005 who joins CapMac between July 14, 2005 and midnight September 30, 2005. They may be a former member who rejoins, or someone who has never belonged. You may NOT count yourself towards the total. They may join by using the online form, by sending in a paper application with payment, by filling out a paper application and submitting it with payment at a meeting, or by delivering a paper application and payment to a CapMac officer. All memberships must be in the hands of Treasurer Midge Kocen by the contest deadline to count.

5. Referrals MUST be indicated on new member applications. No exceptions. Online applicants will be presented with a form they can fill out to submit the name of the member who referred them. These will be matched with the online payment submissions. Paper forms MUST have the name of the referring member on them for the referral to count. Only one member may receive credit for a new member. In the event more than one person is listed the first name will be credited.

6. No Special Advantages for Officers - officers and volunteers are forbidden from using information to recruit (ie, the CapMac membership database) which is not available to all members.

7. In Case of Ties - In the event of ties, the members with identical results will each receive a ticket and a drawing will be held for the winner. For the grand prize, the winner of the drawing will receive the grand prize, with the loser of the drawing receiving the second place prize.

8. Dispute Resolution - in the event of a dispute over totals the CapMac Board of Directors will consider the circumstances and vote to determine the most equitable and fair solution. If the dispute involves a member of the Board that member may not vote towards the outcome.

9. Participation is voluntary, participation means agreement to all terms of the contest, and awards are final. By participating in the contest you promise to follow the rules, and act in accordance with all laws and regulations.

10. Memberships for multiple years for one person do not count as multiple memberships in the contest.

11. Rules may be modified if situations arise which require clarification or definition.

12. Minimum results. To protect our treasury, a minimum of 15 new members recruited by all members must be achieved for grand prize to be awarded.
